Summary
Type: SPE
Application #: 305572
Catalog#: 730533 - Chromab. columns ABC18, 6 ml, 500 mg
Detection:
Conditions: I. SPE with CHROMABOND® ABC18:
Column conditioning: 5 mL methanol, then 5 mL water (do not let run the column dry)
Sample aspiration: prepared sample is passed through the column by vacuum into a vial
Washing: 2 x 2–3 mL water into the same vial
Drying: with vaccum
Reconstitution: eluate and washing water from the same vial are transferred into a volumetric flask and filled-up with water to 20 mL volume
II. Derivatization and SPE with CHROMABOND® HR-XC:
3.5 g KBr are added to the aqueous sample solution; then 2.5 mL bromine water are added (2 h, RT, dark room); addition of a few drops 0.5 mol/L Na2SO4; then an extraction with CHROMABOND® HR-XC.
Column conditioning: 5 mL methanol, then 5 mL water (do not let run the column dry)
Sample aspiration: prepared and derivatized sample is passed through the column by vacuum (do not let run the column dry)
Washing: 3 mL water, then 1 mL borate buffer pH 8.6 and again 0.5 mL water (do not let run the column dry)
Drying: now dry with vaccum
Elution: 2 mL ethyl acetate (effect time 1–2 min)
Eluate is dried with a small portion of Na2SO4; 50 µL triethylamine is added; sample can be directly injected at GC analysis
